Outdoor First Aid Instructor
My name is Paul Nelson and I a freelance trainer with New Forest First aid Training.
My experience in the industry first started off as a lifeguard/Beach Lifeguard. Then become a lifeguard trainer with the RLSS. Mentoring the training assessors.
My main experiences have been teaching First Aid, From emergency first aid the first aid at work to outdoor first aid to recently getting into the forestry and catastrophic bleeds.
With a wealth of knowledge and experience teaching mental health, health and safety, manual handling, and also fire wardens.
The most rewarding part of teaching First Aid, is that people will always give the impression, at the beginning of the day that they don’t particularly want to be there and yet at some point in the session like once they have got to know each other in the group, they always join in with great enthusiasm. The other bit I like is that moment where which happens just after lunch where things, begin to click and they can see links between all the different aspects that we have been looking at and how they will begin to link up.
Best top tip would be delivering first aid is quite simple, something is better than nothing.
Get on with it.
