101 children were trained from Micklem Primary School have gained vital, life-saving skills following a funded first aid training programme delivered by New Forest First Aid Training Ltd and supported by Eurovia.
The sessions formed part of the Mini Medics programme, designed to equip young people with practical knowledge and the confidence to respond in emergency situations. Pupils were assessed on their understanding before and after the training, with results showing a significant improvement across all key areas.
• Knowledge of recovery position increased by 80%
• Knowledge to DR ABC rose by 92%
• Knowledge of CPR increased by 83%
This measurable uplift demonstrates the immediate impact of practical, hands on training.
Beyond the numbers, the programme plays an important role in developing wider life skills. By introducing first aid early, pupils not only learn how to respond in emergencies but also build confidence, empathy and a sense of responsibility,
all of which contribute to safer communities over time.
A spokesperson from Eurovia said:
We’re proud and excited to have supported the Mini Medics Programme with New Forest First Aid, and to have volunteered our time locally. Making and maintaining meaningful connections in the communities we work in is something we truly value and is a key part of what we do at Eurovia.
New Forest First Aid Training Ltd also commented:
We are incredibly grateful to Eurovia for their support. Their contribution has made a meaningful difference, allowing us to equip young people with the confidence and knowledge to act in an emergency. These are skills that not only benefit the children themselves but the wider community. Early education like this can make a real difference!
New Forest First Aid Training Ltd continues to partner with schools and organisations across the UK to expand access to practical first aid education, working towards a future where more young people feel confident to step in and help when it matters most.
